One of the creative uses of Onlineboard is to use it as a shared paper for playing paper and pencil games trough the internet.

This is the list of games that we know they work great with Onlineboard as played them ourselves or our clients recommend them to us.

Hangman

Hangman is a classic pencil and paper game for two or more players. One player thinks of a word, phrase or a sentence and writes it on the paper only using underscores so that other players can see number of characters they need to guess.

Other players then guess individual letters. If they correctly guess a letter the player that is thinking of a word fills all occurrences of that specific letter into the underscore placeholders.

If the letter is not present in a word or phrase the player writes in on the paper and then strikes trough it so everyone can see which letters to not guess. They also draw a part of the diagram that looks like a hanging man.

The game ends with win when players finish the word before the man is hanged and lose if the man is hanged before they guessed all the letters.

In some variants players can also guess the whole word instead of individual letters. However in case they did not guess the word or phrase correctly they lose a try and get no feedback on letters present or not present in the word or phrase.

Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe

Total classic. Game is for two players. The game is played on 3x3 grid. In order to win the game, a player must place three of their marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row.

More interesting variant is connect five which can possibly be played with multiple players.

Connect 5 / Gomoku

This game is similar to Tic-Tac-Toe. However you need to connect 5 marks instead of 3 and the play-space is bigger then 3x3 grid. In some variants the play-space is 19x19 or 21x21 grid.
